Job summary

Landmark, a Halliburton company, seeks a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple engineering teams across subsurface, drilling, reservoir modeling, production optimization, or data platforms. You will guide large-scale architecture changes, oversee platform migrations, and ensure modernization does not erode customer value.

You will mentor Engineering Managers and senior ICs, set clear standards, and partner with product management, design, and domain science to align technical work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a STEM field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering or engineering management experience.
• 3+ years managing engineering teams with direct accountability for delivery outcomes.
• Experience managing managers or leading a team large enough to require delegation of management responsibility.
• Ability to lead delivery across complex, multi‑team programs.
• Technical background to engage with architectural decisions and platform migrations; deep when needed.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to operate at senior leadership level.
• Proven track record in growing engineers and managers through feedback and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple engineering teams with accountability for delivery, quality, and operational health.
• Coach Engineering Managers or senior ICs on leadership and team growth.
• Oversee major architectural changes, legacy decomposition, and platform migrations.
• Maintain engineering discipline: sprint health, standards, incident response, and debt management.
• Review architectural proposals and ensure alignment of management and technical direction.
• Communicate priorities with clarity so teams can decide autonomously.
• Align engineering with product direction and quarterly priorities with cross‑functional partners.
• Build clear organizational ownership, team charters, and documented practices.
• Identify and resolve organizational impediments before they compound.
• Set hiring bar and oversee the candidate funnel for senior hires.
