Job summary

Meritas Advisory Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead product design engineering from customer requirements to production release. You will guide technical decisions, review complex designs, and mentor engineers while ensuring project delivery and product quality.

The role demands hands-on direction in product architecture, materials selection, tolerances, and verification, with collaboration across sales, manufacturing, and quality teams to enable successful new product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Progressive product design engineering experience with responsibility for complex decisions.
• Engineering leadership experience managing people and multiple projects.
• Strong command of mechanical design, CAD, GD&T, materials and verification methods.
• Ability to guide engineers through difficult design problems and reviews.
• Clear communication with customers, commercial teams, manufacturing, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, set priorities, allocate resources and manage project commitments.
• Provide hands-on technical direction for product architecture, mechanical design, materials, tolerances, and verification.
• Lead design reviews and challenge assumptions to resolve risks before release.
• Translate requirements into specifications and validation plans for products.
• Oversee drawings, BOMs, design calculations, changes, and controlled releases.
• Collaborate with sales and customers on feasibility, requirements, proposals, and custom solutions.
• Partner with manufacturing and quality to improve manufacturability and support new product introductions.
• Build engineering capability through coaching and standardized project management practices.
