Job summary

Patreon is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead infrastructure and developer-productivity teams. You’ll own hiring, performance, and career development for your org, and drive operational excellence with observability standards, on-call structures, incident response, SLAs, and Production Readiness Reviews.

Collaborating with Product Engineering, Security, and Data leaders, you’ll prevent bottlenecks and guide AI-enabled tooling adoption to speed product delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years in engineering management, including leading managers or senior ICs across multiple teams.
• Direct experience leading infrastructure, platform, or developer-productivity teams at scale for a consumer product.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Comfort operating scalable production systems with high availability and performance requirements.
• Strong cross-functional partnership with Product Engineering, Security, and Data leads.

This role location is open to fully Remote or to those who are able to be in office 3 days per week on a hybrid work model in New York or San Francisco.

About the Team

You'll own the roadmap and execution across infrastructure and developer productivity. Balancing "keep the site up" reliability work with "make every engineer faster" investment — including Patreon's push to make AI-assisted development a durable part of how the org ships code.

About You

• Required:

  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering management, ideally with experience managing managers or senior ICs across multiple teams

  • Direct experience leading infrastructure, platform, or developer-productivity teams supporting a consumer product at scale

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tooling

  • Comfort operating scalable production systems with high availability and performance requirements

  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills; you'll work daily with Product Engineering, Security, and Data leads

• Nice to Have

  • Experience standing up or scaling developer tooling (CI/CD, testing platforms, internal dev environments)

  • Exposure to AI-assisted software development. Direct experience rolling out AI coding tools/agents at an organizational level, including adoption metrics and guardrails.

The posted salary range is dependent on the location and the level. This range may encompass multiple levels within the role’s job family. The final offer will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, competencies, and geographic location, aligning with the appropriate job level within Patreon’s leveling framework. For remote employees located outside CA and NY, salary may vary based on location and local market conditions.
