Genius AI is seeking a leader for our Compute, Data, and DevEx teams to drive the technical roadmap for infrastructure and data platforms, set the reliability bar, manage vendor spend, and build a self-service platform enabling product engineers to ship efficiently. This role will define the future of our platform and grow the team responsible for it.
Responsibilities will include:
- Own the technical roadmap for infrastructure and data platforms, scaling to support significantly increased traffic while maintaining a 99.95% uptime target and controlling cloud spend across multiple AWS regions
- Shape agentic production operations, building the AI enablement layer that allows engineers to delegate routine operational work to agents
- Define reliability engineering practices, including SLI and SLO frameworks, incident response, and post-mortems
- Improve developer experience through CI platform standardization and self-service tooling, enabling teams to manage infrastructure as code independently
- Lead incident command during critical outages and ensure systemic fixes are implemented
- Own vendor strategy and infrastructure budget, negotiate enterprise contracts, and lead migrations to new vendors as needed
You’re a great fit if you:
- Have 8+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience, with at least 4 years managing or leading engineering teams at a high-growth technology company
- Have fundamentally changed team operations through AI, with specific examples of systems designed and work absorbed
- Make decisions and set technical direction with incomplete information, iterate quickly, and adjust based on data
- Have managed managers or tech leads and scaled teams through significant growth while maintaining performance and culture
- Possess deep hands-on expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, and modern observability tooling, with the ability to debug complex distributed systems
- Demonstrate strong business acumen, treating cloud spend, developer velocity, and reliability as business enablers
- Have a track record of developing engineers and can point to their subsequent achievements
