American Family Insurance is seeking a Senior Manager of Engineering in a hybrid role with offices in Madison, WI or Boston, MA. You will lead cross-functional teams to define and deliver software solutions, manage roadmaps, and ensure high availability of cloud and on-premises services.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership skills in a shared services environment supporting multiple IT customers and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure including print, storage, and correspondence platforms.
• Ability to prioritize workload, manage competing demands, and develop KPIs to measure system performance.
• Focus on minimizing overhead and complexity while enabling self-managing, agile delivery.
• Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
• Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
• Knowledge of enterprise document print and storage is preferred.
• Insurance knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Applies technical knowledge and customer insights to create a roadmap and architect solutions meeting business needs.
• Oversees design, development, engineering, implementation and operations of servers, networks, and cloud/hosting services.
• Drives product development toward balance between user needs, business objectives, resources, and feasibility.
• Manages performance and availability of vendor and internal services with minimal downtime.
• Coordinates with project teams to deliver cloud and end-user service plans on schedule and budget.
• Leads and fosters a collaborative, results-driven work environment and contributes to leadership teams.
