Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager for the Foundation organization within Wallet, Payments & Commerce in New York City. You will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for core services, ensuring scalable, reliable, and secure systems across Apple Pay, Apple Cash, and Tap to Pay.

You will mentor managers and engineers, drive strategic technical directions, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact financial and commerce capabilities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience and 8+ years of direct engineering management experience.
• Strong production experience with JVM-based languages, microservices architectures, and high-availability server-side services.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems fundamentals, including SQL and NoSQL data stores and multi-region deployment topologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineering managers and software engineers.
• Own end-to-end delivery from scoping through production rollout.
• Guide technical direction and architecture for services across the portfolio.
• Maintain technical credibility and oversee design reviews, risk identification, and delivery.
• Foster cross-functional partnerships with Product, Privacy, Compliance, and Program Management.
• Improve operational health, including on-call processes and incident management.
