Job summary

Baxter Healthcare, a global leader in advancing healthcare, seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead Electrical, Firmware, and Mechanical Engineering teams at the Bellevue site. You will drive new product development and sustaining engineering, partnering with Software, Regulatory/Quality, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, and Marketing to deliver high-quality medical devices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product development experience across electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical hardware systems.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership managing multidisciplinary hardware development teams.
• Proven experience leading new product development from concept through commercialization and sustaining engineering activities.
• Demonstrated success developing connected, embedded, or medical device hardware systems in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of design controls, requirements management, risk management, verification and validation, and product lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Electrical, Firmware, and Mechanical Engineering teams; foster a high-performance culture.
• Drive professional development through coaching, goal setting, and performance management.
• Identify skill gaps and recruit engineering talent across Electrical, Firmware, and Mechanical disciplines.
• Advocate for team needs including budget, tools, infrastructure, and process improvements.
• Lead engineering execution across new product development and sustaining projects; ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
• Apply best practices in system design across electrical, firmware, and mechanical integration for medical devices.
• Review user needs, system requirements, design outputs, and verifications to ensure quality and compliance.
• Drive design for manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability with Manufacturing Operations.
• Ensure compliance with Baxter’s Quality Management System and regulatory requirements.
• Promote efficient, compliant development processes and design controls.
• Influence cross-functional adoption of scalable development practices.
• Collaborate with Software, Regulatory/Quality, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, and Marketing to ensure successful product delivery.
