Toast, a leader in restaurant technology, seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to guide Internal Agent Experience across Ireland and India. You will shape strategy, lead a distributed engineering team, and own critical platform components connecting agents to Toast systems.

You’ll drive adoption and ensure security governance while maintaining hands-on technical leadership and modern AI-first engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of managing software engineering teams with extensive software development background.
• Hands-on daily use of coding harnesses and LLM-based tooling.
• Ability to turn fast-moving, ambiguous technology into clear roadmaps and make prioritization calls.
• Ability to communicate and influence at director/executive level, including non-engineering functions.
• Track record delivering internal platforms or developer tooling with measurable adoption.
• Solid technical foundation in distributed systems or SaaS products.
• Experience leading distributed teams across multiple countries/time zones.

Responsabilités

• Lead and grow a distributed team of engineers across Ireland and India, building an operating rhythm that works across time zones.
• Help set the strategy and roadmap for Toast's internal agent ecosystem, covering developer tooling and agents for non-engineering functions.
• Own delivery of components within the internal agent platform from design through production, including integrations to Toast systems and data.
• Drive adoption across R&D and broader company by partnering with product managers during customer research.
• Establish guardrails for agent usage with Security, Legal and Finance, including access controls and data handling.
• Define and report metrics for the team to AI Foundations and R&D leadership.
• Stay hands-on with agentic development practices and model the way of working.
• Champion AI tools to accelerate development and set the bar for an AI-first engineering organization.
