Job summary

Additive is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager in downtown San Francisco. You will be a hands-on player-coach, directly managing a team of 4–6 engineers (growing to 10–12) while remaining an active technical contributor.

You’ll guide AI-driven development, ensure reliability, and work closely with product, tax experts, and customers. You will raise the technical and product bar, mentor engineers, and shape evaluation-driven release decisions.

Qualifications

• Proven track record managing engineers while continuing to contribute technically.
• Shipped customer-facing, eval-driven products and linked engineering decisions to outcomes.
• Experience operating with startup urgency and enterprise governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a 4–6 person engineering team, with potential to 10–12 engineers.
• Own technical design, implementation, testing, and release cycles; mentor engineers.
• Define finish lines, milestones, and lightweight operating rhythms; balance speed with quality.
• Spend time with customers and product teams to align technical work with real needs.
