Job summary

EarnIn in Mountain View is hiring a senior engineering leader to guide a full-stack team delivering AI-native, high-traffic services. You’ll own hiring, roadmap, and execution, collaborating with VP-level leadership across legal, compliance, and partnerships.

You’ll drive architectural direction, balance product impact and technical debt, and champion responsible AI tooling while delivering scalable payments-related features in a regulated space.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with backend services and distributed systems at high scale.
• Experience delivering integrations with external partners and APIs/SDKs.
• Hands-on fluency with AI-assisted engineering tools and applying them judiciously.
• Experience shipping in regulated environments with Legal/Compliance/bank partners.
• Ability to shape what the team builds using customer insights and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of backend and mobile engineers, including staff-level tech leads.
• Own hiring for the team: define roles, run interview loops, calibrate levels, and close candidates.
• Drive delivery: plan sprints, remove blockers, meet commitments for launches.
• Shape quarterly roadmap with data-driven ROI and scope trade-offs.
• Measure impact with experiments and business metrics; adjust plans accordingly.
• Contribute to tech direction with engineers and architects; address tech debt.
• Ensure operational health for high-traffic services and incident response.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Finance, CX and partners on launches.
• Champion AI-native practices and mentor teams in using AI with judgment.
