The Senior Engineering Manager is an internally focused leadership role responsible for providing strategic and technical oversight for the Engineering Group within the Technical Services Department. This position develops permanent solutions to complex environmental engineering challenges and supports a multidisciplinary team delivering work across the organization's environmental projects.
The Senior Engineering Manager does not serve as a primary client-facing role but, instead, leads engineers in the internal development and review of remediation and pollution control strategies, supports permitting and redevelopment effort, and provides final technical and QA/QC review of Engineering Group deliverables. The role is accountable for Engineering Group performance, including metrics, budgeting, staffing, and personnel management, and works closely with internal department leaders to deliver consistent, high quality technical solutions.
Education: B.S. in Engineering
Recommended Experience: 8 years of experience in Engineering
Certifications: Maintain a signatory credential (i.e. PE, LPG, CHMM, Soil Scientist)
Skills: Strong verbal/written communication skills are a must. Personnel Management is a plus.
Additional requirements: Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and capable of operating vehicles safely
75% or more office (controlled environment), up to 25% field/site visit travel (environmental job hazards)
This classification requires travel to various client locations resulting in occasional longer workdays and may include extended and/or further travel, resulting in multiple days and overnights. Long-distance drives and air travel may be required.
