Job summary

HDI Global Insurance Company, a Chicago-based insurer and subsidiary of HDI Global SE, seeks an Engineering Lines Underwriter to manage complex engineering and builders risk accounts and drive profitable portfolio growth.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of underwriting experience with CAR/EAR, CPE/CPM, DSU/ALOP, and Machinery Breakdown knowledge. Base salary ranges from $110,000 to $130,000 with a bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of engineering lines or builders risk underwriting experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of CAR/EAR, CPE/CPM, DSU/ALOP, and Machinery Breakdown risks.
• Ability to analyze complex construction and industrial risks.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Engineering Lines and Builders Risk within delegated authority.
• Assess complex project risks by reviewing construction details and timelines.
• Develop terms, conditions, limits, deductibles, and pricing with brokers/clients.
• Mentor junior underwriters and ensure compliance with standards.
