Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering in Finance Technology (RAPIDS). You will mentor multiple teams, drive AI-assisted development and scalable SDLC practices, and lead end-to-end software design from requirements to production.

This leadership role emphasizes security, reliability, and delivery of modern data pipelines on AWS. Success requires hands-on coding in Java/Python with Spring, React for front-end, and experience with Databricks and Spark-based patterns,

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years applied experience.
• 2+ years leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within domain.
• Experience leading multi-team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools with governance/ways of working.
• Strong hands-on coding experience with Java and/or Python, including Spring for backend service development.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers.
• Accountable for decisions influencing resources, budget, and execution of processes.
• Sets and scales operating practices for AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation across teams.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC toolchain and AI-assisted development to drive efficiency and capacity unlocks.
• Ensures collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work with escalation as needed.
• Provides input to leadership on budget, approach, and technical considerations.
• Lead the end-to-end design and development of software solutions from requirements to production deployment and support.
• Serve as a technical owner for key components/services, driving architecture and security.
• Build and maintain backend services using Java/Python (Spring) and modern APIs.
• Deliver full-stack capabilities with front-end development using React and API integration.
• Design data pipelines using Databricks (Spark) and cloud data services.
• Build cloud-native solutions on AWS (EMR, Glue, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, Step Functions).
• Design, integrate, and operationalize AI/ML and LLM-powered features with governance.
