Job summary

Comcast is seeking a Manager 2, Software Development & Engineering to lead the vCMTS software strategy and delivery of cloud-native broadband solutions. You will shape architecture, guide cross-functional teams, and ensure scalable, reliable production systems.

You will actively contribute to system design, perform critical reviews, mentor engineers, and align efforts with enterprise standards while exploring AI/ML approaches to improve performance and observability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with systems and networking background.
• Experience with distributed systems, Linux, and cloud-native platforms (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute vCMTS software strategy aligned with business and access network roadmap.
• Own end-to-end delivery of software releases, including planning, execution, and lifecycle management.
• Establish and track KPIs for delivery, system performance, and reliability.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex production issues across distributed systems.
• Guide engineering teams on best practices in distributed systems, networking, and cloud-native development.
