Job summary

Baxter Healthcare in Hayward, CA seeks a manufacturing engineering leader to maintain and improve complex processes and guide a team of engineers and technicians. You will drive GMP compliance, lead projects with quality, time, and budget in mind, and provide technical direction across multiple disciplines.

As part of the site senior leadership team, you will review design concepts, manage budgets, and support ongoing PMO initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS in relevant engineering field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8-10 years of engineering experience.
• Must be well versed in engineering fields.
• Knowledge of GMPs, FDA guidelines, purchasing practices and process validation.
• Must be self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and capable of solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience.
• Ability to design and implement in own area of expertise.
• Be involved in at least one industry interest group.
• Has demonstrated effective supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of complex issues in associated projects, plans and schedules project implementation.
• Define scope of work for project team.
• Hire, develop and recognize technical staff; team may include senior engineers and technicians.
• Provide technical directions; design new or improved products or process systems.
• Review and approve feasibility of complex design concepts and analysis of technologies across fields.
• Review proposals to determine benefits and justify expenditures.
• Recommend proposals to management for funding and resources.
• Prepare project cost estimates up to multi-million-dollar range; monitor expenditures.
