Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Engineer to provide technical support on projects by performing a variety of engineering-related tasks and assignments, ensuring that project tasks are complete, accurate, and in accordance with engineering best practices.

Water and wastewater management presents unique challenges, including environmental, health, economic issues, and regulatory concerns. Our water management experts understand these complexities and apply their expertise in feasibility, design, and master planning, considering water as a precious natural resource. Our professionals develop creative solutions to ensure communities have safe and reliable water and wastewater distribution, collection, and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Develop broad knowledge and skills in a specific practice area.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standards, procedures, and criteria for project tasks, including complex features.
• Apply judgment to adapt methods for non-routine assignments.
• Prepare general engineering designs and technical data for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare project documents and edit specifications.
• Conduct research and investigations as needed.
• May assign tasks to engineers, administrative staff, or technicians.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to complete projects within budgets and deadlines.
• Prepare conceptual layouts and design gravity sewer and water extensions with limited guidance.
• Develop SESC plans, construction estimates, and site-specific details.
• Draft technical reports, specifications, and memos.
• Perform pump station calculations and review shop drawings and RFIs.
• Conduct fire flow tests and water analysis.
• Utilize pipe works to illustrate existing conditions and proposed improvements.
• Prepare plans for pump stations and facilities, and permit applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering.
• EIT certification preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in civil/environmental engineering, focusing on water/wastewater design.
• Experience with AutoCAD & OpenRoads is desired.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Design experience with water and wastewater treatment plants.
• Proficiency in English for understanding written and verbal communications.
