Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber seeks a Senior Engineer to lead wastewater planning and modeling efforts across Michigan offices. Based in Farmington Hills, Lansing, or Grand Rapids, or remote arrangements may be considered.

You will guide sanitary sewer flow monitoring, hydraulic modeling, and master planning for regional communities. The ideal candidate has a PE, 8+ years in sewer systems, and strong communication with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
• 8+ years of experience in flow monitoring, modeling, and analysis of sanitary and storm sewer systems.
• Proficiency with EPA SWMM and PCSWMM; InfoWorks ICM is a plus.
• Strong communication and client interaction.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead sanitary sewer flow monitoring programs, data review, and analysis.
• Develop, calibrate, and apply sanitary sewer and combined sewer hydraulic models.
• Perform wastewater collection system capacity evaluations and wet weather analyses.
• Prepare wastewater master plans, alternatives analyses, and technical memorandums.
• Analyze SSES data and support solutions for SSO, CSO, and basement backup concerns.
• Lead project management activities, client meetings, schedules, and budgets.
• Support proposals, scope development, and business development efforts.

Working with our Water/Wastewater Team, you will lead and support wastewater collection system planning, hydraulic modeling, flow monitoring, system capacity evaluations, and municipal infrastructure studies for communities and wastewater authorities throughout the region.
