Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Senior Engineer – Wastewater Planning & Modeling to lead wastewater collection system planning, hydraulic modeling, flow monitoring, and infrastructure studies across Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. You will mentor junior staff and manage client relationships while guiding project delivery and technical analyses.

Based in Farmington Hills, Lansing, Grand Rapids, or any Fishbeck office. Hybrid schedules and remote options may be considered for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• 8+ years of experience in flow monitoring, modeling, and analysis of sanitary and storm sewer systems.
• Proficiency with EPA SWMM and PCSWMM; experience with InfoWorks ICM is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing and client interaction.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead sanitary sewer flow monitoring programs, data review, and analysis.
• Develop, calibrate, and apply sanitary sewer and combined sewer hydraulic models.
• Perform wastewater collection system capacity evaluations and wet weather analyses.
• Prepare wastewater master plans, alternatives analyses, and technical memorandums.
• Analyze SSES data and support solutions for SSO, CSO, and basement backup concerns.
• Lead project management activities, client meetings, schedules, and budgets.
• Support proposals, scope development, and business development efforts.

Working with our Water/Wastewater Team, you will lead and support wastewater collection system planning, hydraulic modeling, flow monitoring, system capacity evaluations, and municipal infrastructure studies for communities and wastewater authorities throughout the region.

What You’ll Do
