Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities

• Apply or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts to warhead integration into missile systems.
• Involve in both development and production programs across Raytheon product lines.
• Interface with customers to identify user needs and resolve engineering issues.
• Work with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop new products and hold technical reviews.
• Conduct hydrocode simulation and lethality analysis.
• Support warhead design, analysis, test, and evaluation.
• Develop Statements of Work (SOWs), Critical Item Development Specifications (CIDS), and Technical Data Packages (TDP).
• Support fact‑finding and contract negotiations, ensuring technical rigor and depth of all deliverables.
• Travel periodically to government and subcontractor facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in STEM (Engineering, Mathematics, or related field) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in warhead development from conceptual design through final test/assembly.
• Experience in solid propulsion system development from conceptual design through final test/assembly.
• Project management skills applied to team interaction and deliverables.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.
• Preferred: Advanced degree and 8+ years of directly related experience in warhead design, analysis, and development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative efforts with other technical disciplines (structural, thermal, aerodynamics).
• Technical writing skills for detailed design requirements, test requirements, SOWs, white papers, and presentations.
• Supplier collaboration experience and oversight in generating specifications and SOWs.
• Working knowledge or experience with missile design, development, production support, and integration.
• Experience with DoD customers and/or contractor executives and technical leadership.
• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance (Department of Defense).
