VEIR, headquartered in Woburn, MA, seeks a Senior Engineer for the System Integration & Heat Transfer team to ensure reliable installation of superconducting cable across diverse customer sites. The role focuses on hardware design, installation methods, and field support to drive robust deployments.

You will translate complex specifications into manuals, lead training efforts, and collaborate with contractors while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. Willingness to travel is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience with strong mechanics/structures and field operations.
• CAD and BIM proficiency for design and analysis.
• MATLAB or Python or similar for modeling and analysis is a plus.
• Excellent technical writing and process documentation skills.
• Continuous improvement mindset to optimize system designs.
• Strong collaboration, vendor management, and mentoring abilities.
• Willingness to travel for short deployments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for installation methods of low- and medium-voltage superconducting cables across environments.
• Specify and design installation hardware and equipment, including custom solutions.
• Plan and execute testing to ensure mechanical design aligns with installation techniques.
• Translate complex specs into field manuals and training materials.
• Design training and provide field support to partners for reliable installations.
• Ensure installation methods comply with site safety standards and codes.
• Interface with external contractors during planning and execution.
