Position Overview:

The Senior Software Engineer leads technical initiatives and drives engineering excellence across our organization. This role combines technical expertise with leadership capabilities, focusing on architecting scalable solutions while mentoring and growing the engineering team.

During the first six months you will:

• Collaborate with US and CZ based engineering teams to design backend solutions for Mobile Frontend
• Develop Backend for Frontend REST APIs in C# and connect with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, and SQL databases such as SQL Server, Aurora, Postgres
• Use observability tools (such as DataDog, New Relic, ELK) to troubleshoot/trace issues and improve performance
• Advocate for best practices and a healthy balance of tech debt versus delivery
• Ensure code is flexible, reusable, extensible, performant, and high quality through feedback on code reviews by writing unit tests, integration tests, and load tests
• Work within the scope of a team and participate in driving cross-team collaboration
• Find innovative ways to increase the quality and velocity of engineering work
• Demonstrate passion for writing quality software
• Share knowledge and interests with others to strengthen your team
• Build relationships and communicate with various stakeholders across the organization
• Identify risks, escalate priorities, and help resolve issues that could impact production quality

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience
• Proven track record of leading significant technical initiatives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Collaborative mindset with ability to influence peers
• Adaptable approach to changing requirements and priorities

Technical Experience:

• 5+ years designing RESTful APIs (C# or Java)
• 2+ years experience with database development (NoSQL and SQL)
• 2+ years developing cloud solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Understanding of fault tolerance, resiliency, error handling, and architectural patterns
• Experience with unit testing and automation of integration tests
• Ability to work off-hours and weekends as part of On-Call rotation
• Passion for writing simple, clean, efficient code

Nice To Have:

• Docker, AWS EKS
• AWS Solutions Architect certification
• Experience designing backend for Mobile Frontend (Swift, Kotlin, Ionic, React)
• gRPC, GraphQL

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods (7-8 hours a day)
• Use of computer and phone systems, operating multiple software programs simultaneously
