Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering to design and implement software and hardware build procedures for aerospace products. You will develop control and diagnostic software, collaborate with design teams, and ensure compliance with avionics standards.

The role requires 3+ years in Embedded C/C++ and 3+ years in Avionics/Navigation systems, with DO-178C experience and a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 5 years of progressive software engineering experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Avionics Systems.
• 3+ years of experience with DO-178C.
• 3+ years of Embedded Software development in C/C++.

What YOU will do

• Design and implement build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
• Design, develop, document, test and design control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determine end-user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
• Innovate, design, develop and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.
• Ensure hardware and software standards are met.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and 5 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role. In the alternative, must possess at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role would be acceptable.
• Must possess at least 3 years of experience with Avionics Systems.
• Must possess at least 3 years of experience with DO-178C.
• Must possess at least 3 years of experience with Embedded Software development in C/C++.
• Must possess at least 3 years of experience with Navigation Systems.
• Non-US Person - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. The company will not seek an export authorization for this role.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work onsite. This

includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range is $155,501.00 to $165,200.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
