Job summary

Target is seeking a technically adept engineer to own and improve end-to-end log ingestion into Google SecOps, ensuring reliable shipment and scalable data pipelines. You will collaborate with Threat Management teams to implement back-ward compatible data feeds and robust SIEM integrations while leading on-call troubleshooting and automation efforts.

You will bring strong Python proficiency, experience with regex parsing, and a solid foundation in distributed systems and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of software development and/or platform engineering experience.
• Proven track record building and operating systems in a cloud environment (public cloud required).
• Proficiency in Python and regular expressions for parsing, extraction, and validation.
• Experience integrating systems using APIs (including authentication/authorization concepts).
• Experience ingesting, transforming, and validating log/event data across standard and non-standard formats.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve end-to-end log ingestion into Google SecOps—from source onboarding to reliable shipment.
• Design scalable improvements to ingestion pipelines, integrations, and data validation.
• Partner with Threat Management teams to deliver high-quality, backward-compatible data feeds and SecOps integrations.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across log pipelines and SIEM integrations; implement preventative measures.
• Build and enhance ingestion tooling using Python and regex for parsing, validation, and schema evolution.
• Develop monitoring and alerting aligned to platform SLOs/SLAs, reducing incidents and MTTR.
