Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the Google Unified SecOps and Threat Operations portfolio, focusing on application security and horizontal reliability across large-scale cloud services.

You will define strategy, drive multi-year roadmaps, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure-by-design, resilient products while maintaining high standards for incident response and system health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of security engineering experience focused on application security or large-scale systems.
• 8 years of data structures and algorithms experience.
• 3 years in technical leadership setting strategy for security programs or reliability initiatives.
• Experience with application security vulnerabilities, secure coding practices, and mitigation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical goal, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for the Google Unified SecOps and Threat Operations portfolio.
• Elevate incident management standards and postmortems.
• Serve as the technical decision-maker for reliability and application security matters.
• Coordinate with SRE organization and other teams on architectural decisions across Google Cloud Security.
• Identify critical failure modes in real-time systems and guide resilience efforts.
