Job summary

North Wind seeks a Sr. Engineer to drive real-time digital twins for a large wind tunnel facility, integrating physics-based simulations with hardware to accelerate operations and test conduct.

The role involves leading a small team, applying ML/AI for data management, and ensuring rigorous configuration management across models and artifacts. You will collaborate with controls, data acquisition, and engineering teams while interfacing with customer technical representatives to review results

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with wind tunnel testing or related facility operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and lead development of real-time wind tunnel facility digital twin / simulation software with hardware-in-the-loop.
• Integrate physics-based simulations with facility hardware to improve test conduct efficiency and data collection.
• Support integration of digital twins with controls, data acquisition, and data display efforts.
• Lead a small team of engineers for digital twin development and alignment with digital engineering platform.
• Develop ML/AI techniques for data collection, updates, and operational decision making.
• Enforce configuration management of digital twin data and artifacts.
• Prepare technical documentation and present results for internal and external stakeholders.
• Interface with customer technical representatives to review analysis activities and results.
