Job summary

Airloom is seeking an experienced embedded systems engineer in California to design and implement real-time control software for lightweight wind turbine technology. You will collaborate with hardware, power electronics, and mechanical teams to create robust control solutions and validate performance across prototypes.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded C/C++ and a solid grasp of motor controllers, generator controls, and MATLAB/Simulink modeling.

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
Demonstrated capability with C/C++ programming for embedded and real-time systems.
Experience with motor controllers, generator controls, and power electronics is highly relevant.
Familiarity with Simulation Tools like MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling software.
Demonstrated vehicle-level and systems-level knowledge to execute to plan and solve complex issues in real time.

Responsibilities

Conceptual Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative concepts and solutions.
Analysis: Conduct analyses to optimize designs and ensure performance.
Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the fabrication, planning, and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts and ensure functionality and performance.
Manufacturing Support: Work closely with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost effective.
Documentation: Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and engineering documentation.
Critical safety systems integration: Understand failure modes, hazards analysis, and actions for real-time troubleshooting.
