Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies International Ltd is seeking a Graphics Software Engineer to architect, design, implement, verify, and optimize GPU hardware, drivers, features, applications, and tools. You will write code in C/C++/Python across platforms and contribute to pre-/post-silicon test development.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage with external stakeholders, and produce design documentation to guide developers and customers in implementing software features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

• Leverages advanced Graphics knowledge and experience to architect, design, implement, verify, and optimize the structure and performance of critical GPU hardware, drivers, features, applications, and tools.
• Writes code for complex features, drivers, and APIs using languages such as C, C++, perl, python and ensures cross-platform performance.
• Develops and maintains pre- and post-silicon tests using advanced tools in environments like simulation, emulation, on-device for performance, stability, security.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant GPU experience.
• 1+ year of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director and above).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Leverages advanced Graphics knowledge and experience to architect, design, implement, verify, and optimize the structure and performance of critical GPU hardware, drivers, features, applications, and tools.
• Writes code for complex features, drivers, and APIs using different languages (e.g., C, C++, perl, python) and ensures code will perform effectively on different platforms.
• Develops and maintains comprehensive pre- and post-silicon tests using advanced tools and methods in different environments (e.g., simulation, emulation, on-device) to ensure optimal performance, stability, security, and identify issues.
• Identifies deficiencies and proposes solutions to improve designs; implements quality improvements in industry standard APIs and GPU hardware.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, customers, external stakeholders (developers and standards groups), and/or third-party vendors to expose new features and functionality that align with needs and goals for implementation and customization.
• Writes detailed design documentation and feature descriptions for complex projects to guide developers and/or customers to use or implement software.

• Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
