Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Graphics Software Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate tools and software needed for next‑gen gaming, XR, and AI experiences.

You will develop features and APIs in Python, TypeScript, PHP, Groovy, C, and C++, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive GPU driver validation, build systems, and deployment processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2+ years of software/hardware/graphics experience.
  • Master's degree in a related field and 1+ year of relevant work experience.
  • PhD in a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience with graphics languages (C++, C).

Responsibilities

  • Apply graphics and software engineering knowledge to build systems for GPU drivers, features, apps, and tools.
  • Develop software features, tools, automation, and APIs using Python, TypeScript, PHP, Groovy, C, and C++.
  • Integrate AI technologies to improve productivity for software environments and teams.
  • Follow CI, static analysis, and secure coding practices to create efficient workflows.
  • Identify design deficiencies and implement improvements with the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand new features and requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Game Rendering, or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Game Rendering, or related work experience.
  • PhD in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ year of academic and/or work experience with one or more programming language suitable for graphics (e.g., C++, C).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient development skills in Python.
  • Working knowledge of the tools and development lifecycle of compiled software products.
  • Knowledge of one or more programming languages suitable for graphics development (e.g., C++, C).
  • Experience in two or more of the following areas:
    • Deep knowledge of Python, including package development, typing, and commonly used Python libraries/packages.
    • Embedded software development or other development in C/C++.
    • Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills.
    • Experience integrating AI technologies, including supervisor-worker architectures and human-in-the-loop systems.
    • Proficiency with Git and/or Perforce revision control systems.
    • Build and make system development.
    • Experience with static analysis tools, including code coverage and heuristic error detection.
    • Database experience, particularly with MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
    • Linux administration and development.
    • Windows administration and development.
    • Web development, especially with Next.js, Django, and/or Flask.
    • Containerization technologies such as Docker, Singularity, and/or Kubernetes.
    • Knowledge of computer graphics fundamentals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Apply graphics and software engineering knowledge to help build systems that compile, verify, debug, and deploy GPU drivers, features, applications, and tools.
  • Develop software features, tools, automation, and APIs using languages such as Python, TypeScript, PHP, Groovy, C, and C++.
  • Integrate artificial intelligence technologies to improve productivity and effectiveness for both the software environment and development teams.
  • Leverage industry best practices in continuous integration, static analysis, distributed computing, network security, secure coding, software branching, and package management to create secure and efficient development workflows.
  • Identify design deficiencies and collaborate with team members to develop and implement improvements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand new features and functionality, ensuring successful implementation and customization.
  • Create detailed design documentation and feature specifications for projects.

Pay range and Benefits

$123,700.00 - $185,500.00

This above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
