Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking Graphics Software Engineers to architect, design, implement, verify, and optimize GPU hardware, drivers, APIs, and related tools. The role requires strong graphics programming skills and experience across languages such as C, C++, Python, and Perl.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, develop pre- and post-silicon tests, and contribute to high-performance graphics solutions for gaming, XR, and AI experiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a relevant field with required experience.
  • Experience with graphics programming languages (C/C++/Python/Perl) and GPU-oriented work.
  • Minimum years of experience vary by degree level as stated (4+ / 3+ / 2+).

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, implement, verify, and optimize GPU hardware, drivers, and features.
  • Write and maintain code in C/C++/Python/Perl for multiple platforms.
  • Develop pre- and post-silicon tests using simulation, emulation, or on-device environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to expose new features.
  • Create design documentation for complex projects to guide developers.

Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet and exceed customer needs.Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Game Rendering, or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Game Rendering, or related work experience.ORPhD in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Game Rendering, or related work experience.• 1+ year of work experience with one or more programming language suitable for graphics (e.g., C++, C).Preferred Qualifications:• Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.• 2+ years of relevant GPU experience.• 1 + year of experience working in a large matrixed organization.• 1 + year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director and above) .Principal Duties and Responsibilities:• Leverages advanced Graphics knowledge and experience to architect, design, implement, verify, and optimize the structure and performance of critical GPU hardware, drivers, features, applications, and tools.• Writes code for complex features, drivers, and APIs using different languages (e.g., C, C++, perl, python) and ensures code will perform effectively on different platforms.• Develops and maintains comprehensive pre- and post-silicon tests using advanced tools and methods in different environments (e.g., simulation, emulation, on-device) to ensure optimal performance, stability, security, and identify issues.• Identifies deficiencies and proposes solutions to improve designs; implements quality improvements in industry standard APIs and GPU hardware.• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, customers, external stakeholders (developers and standards groups), and/or third-party vendors to expose new features and functionality that align with needs and goals for implementation and customization.• Writes detailed design documentation and feature descriptions for complex projects to guide developers and/or customers to use or implement software.Level of Responsibility:• Works independently with minimal supervision.• Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.• Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information.
