Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; five years of civil engineering project management, design, or construction experience.
• Professional Engineer license in Illinois or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, design, and construction of infrastructure improvements for streets, water mains, sanitary, storm, and related capital projects.
• Supervise staff and consultants in developing conceptual designs, contract plans/specifications, bidding, construction observation, project documentation, and community relations.
• Apply extensive knowledge of civil, structural, and hydraulic engineering principles and current standards.
• Exercise independent judgment and provide strong customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Utilize MicroStation and GIS for engineering and design documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Village, County, State, and Federal codes, standards, and ordinances.
• Coordinate with other governmental agencies and departments as needed.
