Position Overview
As a RAM Detection (RDA and Metrology) Detection Strategy Senior Engineer/Principal Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will collaborate with process, equipment, and process integration teams to start up, develop, and optimize detection processes to improve product yield, quality, and cost.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the NAND and DRAM sites, HVM and TD, and suppliers to achieve Inline Visibility and Inline Control for detection enablement and improvement.
- Set up Best Known Methods (BKMs) related to RAM detection performance, cost, and supplier engagement.
- Ensure BKM alignment and deployment, supporting RAM standardization across sites.
- Lead the Detection SWAT (System Workforce Allocation Team) in identifying BKMs and strategies to meet detection goals.
- Lead the RAM network in BKM standardization across all sites.
- Develop metrics and KPIs to measure team success and performance.
- Lead a team of engineers on projects, identifying opportunities and risks, and providing solutions to clear roadblocks.
- Devise strategies, plans, and roadmap for short‑term and long‑term objectives.
- Manage resource allocation and prioritize tasks to achieve goals.
- Maintain strong working relationships with partners across HVM, TD, and external functions.
- Enhance detection capability and strategy to enable yield improvement, improve cycle of learning, and strengthen the defense line.
- Plan, evaluate, and promote new equipment/material through supplier demo, tool evaluation, or head‑to‑head processes.
- Lead the Copy Smart Team (CST) and hold the team accountable for delivering on timelines and commitments.
- Support cross‑site alignment through CST and provide strategic direction.
- Set and enforce business processes to meet program expectations and standards.
- Provide guidance to improve and optimize programs and processes for owners.
- Manage global business activities for RAM area, including TOR, MOR, MTEP, DOC2, ERM, SCM documentation.
- Maintain Acceptance Documentation and Configuration Specs (ADCS) for current TOR configuration.
- Manage projects using proper project management processes and metrics.
- Drive strategies that benefit the entire Micron network.
- Identify and share BKMs across sites and track compliance.
- Monitor fab performance metrics for benchmarking and identify improvement gaps.
- Partner with Technology Development and Global Procurement to reduce CapEx and OpEx through supplier competitiveness.
- Provide tactical support for people, safety, cycle time, yield, quality, and cost issues in fabs.
- Engage and drive suppliers on tool roadmap (MRM), technology sharing, and other projects.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in RDA and/or Metrology.
- Willing and capable of international travel, including extended international assignments up to 6 months.
- Adequate skills in project and program management.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with sites, multi‑functional teams, and suppliers.
- Excellent communication skills, maintaining open relationships with peers and functional areas such as Process Integration Engineering, Quality Systems, Production Operations Management, and Purchasing.
