Job summary

Neurocrine Biosciences is seeking a Senior Engineer, Oral Solid Dose Packaging Development to provide technical leadership across packaging from early development to commercialization and lifecycle management.

You will lead material selection, specification development, and packaging validation, coordinating with Clinical Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and external vendors. Strong regulatory writing and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or related field with 4+ years of experience.
• Experience in pharmaceutical packaging in a cGMP environment.
• Direct experience with oral solid dose packaging.
• Experience with regulatory submissions and packaging development.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end packaging material selection and qualification for oral solid dose container closure systems and associated secondary and tertiary packaging.
• Establish packaging strategies, specifications, critical material attributes, engineering and process controls, and acceptance criteria.
• Design, execute, interpret, and document packaging development, package integrity, transportation, qualification, and validation studies.
• Lead technical assessments for CPO selection and drive packaging site readiness for commercial launch.
• Lead technical investigations for packaging deviations and lifecycle changes with vendors.
• Oversee packaging artwork development, dielines, print requirements, barcodes, serialization, and line compatibility.
• Author and review regulatory packaging content and responses to health authority questions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external orgs to evaluate new materials, technologies, and sustainability.
