Job summary

Hypori Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer – Mobile Application to build enterprise Android apps within an agile development process.

You will deliver code through CI/CD pipelines to on‑prem and cloud deployments, work in a small team, and tackle complex problems with initiative and collaboration. The role requires 5+ years of Android development, strong Kotlin skills, Jetpack Compose, and experience with MVVM and testing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing mobile applications on Android.
• 3+ years leading the development of mobile applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and coroutines/Flow.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose for declarative UI.
• Familiarity with Gradle Kotlin DSL and multi-module Android projects.
• Experience with DI frameworks (Koin/Dagger/Hilt).
• Knowledge of MVVM and unidirectional data flow.
• Experience with Android Jetpack components and testing (JUnit/MockK).
• Cloud testing experience (AWS or Azure).
• Proficient with Linux/Unix, Git.

Responsibilities

• Protect IP, data, and system integrity per secure SDLC policies.
• Maintain and communicate status in Jira and daily standups.
• Reconcile product requirements with Android internals.
• Implement production-quality features for the Hypori Client app.
• Enhance the app to leverage Android ecosystem capabilities.
• Create unit tests and run test suites with automation.

As a Senior Engineer – Mobile Application, you will collaborate to build enterprise Android applications in our full agile software development process, including troubleshooting, design, coding, and testing bug fixes and new functionalities. You will deliver code through an evolving CI/CD pipeline to on-prem and public cloud deployments. You will work on a small team to solve large problems that require serious initiative, critical thinking, eager collaboration, informed risk-taking, and clear communication.

Responsibilities:

• Protect intellectual property, user data, and system integrity by (a) adhering to Hypori's policies and procedures for secure software development and (b) following best practices for secure product design, implementation, and deployment of development, build, test, production, and other environments.
• Maintain and communicate status in Jira and in daily standups.
• Reconcile product requirements with an understanding of Android internals.
• Implement production-quality features for the Hypori Client app.
• Enhance the Hypori Client app to take advantage of similar capabilities in the Android ecosystem.
• Creation of unit tests and execution of test suites with test automation framework.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience developing mobile applications on Android
• 3+ years of experience leading the development of mobile applications
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, including coroutines and Flow
• Experience with Jetpack Compose for declarative UI
• Familiarity with Gradle (Kotlin DSL) and multi-module Android projects
• Experience with a dependency injection framework (Koin, Dagger, or Hilt)
• Strong working knowledge of Kotlin coroutines and Java threading
• Strong working knowledge of MVVM and unidirectional data flow design patterns
• Working knowledge of Android Jetpack fundamentals (ViewModel, Lifecycle, DataStore)
• Experience writing unit tests with JUnit and a mocking library (e.g., MockK)
• Experience in testing cloud-based applications (Amazon Web Services or Azure)
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix-based operating systems
• Strong understanding of git version control

Base salary range: $180,000-$195,000 + 10% Bonus
