Job summary

Original Composites and Fiberglass is seeking a Sr. Engineer, R&D - Americas Minerals & Petrography to act as the regional technical expert for mineral raw materials and glass chemistry.

You will lead petrographic analysis, analytical investigations, and supplier qualification to improve product quality and process performance. You will partner with plant technical teams, operations, quality, sourcing, and external suppliers to advance sustainability and cost efficiencies while supporting safe

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Geology, Mineralogy, Ceramic Engineering, Glass Science, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Experience in glass manufacturing, industrial minerals, raw materials, or analytical laboratories.
• Strong knowledge of glass chemistry, batch formulation, mineral systems and melting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead minerals, raw materials, glass chemistry, petrography, and analytical investigations across Americas facilities.
• Provide technical leadership for material specifications, change management, and supplier qualification.
• Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Support manufacturing with batch formulation, melting performance, and process capability.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, innovation, sourcing, and capital projects.
