Job summary

Flagship Pioneering is seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer to own the code and automation that runs our Microsoft 365 and Entra ID environment. Flagship operates a single, shared Microsoft 365 tenant supporting portfolio companies with diverse identities and lifecycles.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on engineering, not architecture or management. You will inherit existing code, extend it as sources evolve, and be a senior escalation point for automation issues.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in engineering and supporting Microsoft 365 and Entra ID environments.
• Advanced PowerShell experience with Graph SDK and Exchange Online PowerShell.
• Troubleshooting refactoring and supporting existing production codebases.
• Experience with Entra identity lifecycle management and SCIM provisioning.
• REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, Git workflows, and unattended authentication.
• Broad Microsoft 365 knowledge across Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and extend automation using Microsoft Graph, PowerShell, and APIs.
• Ensure secure, least-privilege automation and proper permissions.
• Maintain Exchange Online and SharePoint Online automation and lifecycle tasks.
• Manage joiner/mover/leaver processes for employees and contractors.
• Support Entra capabilities including lifecycle workflows and governance.
• Integrate HR, ITSM, identity, and collaboration systems using code or platforms.
• Promote Git-based source control, testing, monitoring, and runbooks.
• Mentor peers and act as a senior escalation point for complex issues.
