Job summary

AMIT GPS & NAVIGATION LLP in the United States seeks a senior technician/engineer to diagnose, service and repair MTU diesel engines and ZF gearboxes, and to lead preventive maintenance activities. You will analyze issues with diagnostic tools, prepare service reports and root-cause analyses, and coordinate with manufacturers for updates and parts at on-site or remote client locations.

Required: a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 5–8 years of hands-on MTU/ZF experience, and MTU/ZF training

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 5–8 years of hands-on MTU diesel engine and ZF gearbox experience.
• Factory training or certification from MTU and/or ZF is highly preferred.

• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities.


• Conduct engine overhauls, gearbox inspections, and mechanical rebuilds.


• Analyze technical issues using diagnostic tools and software.


• Prepare detailed service reports, root cause analyses, and repair documentation.


• Coordinate with manufacturers for technical updates, part sourcing, and warranty claims.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.


• Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience with MTU diesel engines and ZF gearboxes.


• Factory training or certification from MTU (Rolls-Royce Power Systems) and/or ZF is highly preferred.


• Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, fuel injections, turbochargers, control systems, and marine propulsion.


• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.


• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.


• Willingness to travel and work on-site in remote or offshore locations as needed.
