Job summary

Markono Group Pte Ltd is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer to configure, administer, troubleshoot, and improve on-premise and cloud environments across networking, Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS. You will be the technical go-to person for incidents, changes and maintenance, directly handling devices and cloud consoles while coordinating vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or a relevant Microsoft infrastructure or security certification
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate or a relevant AWS certification
• Relevant network or security certification such as Fortinet or equivalent
• At least 8 years of hands-on infrastructure, network, systems or cloud administration experience
• Experience configuring enterprise switches, wireless networks, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP and routing
• Experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 in production
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS in production environments
• Experience supporting hybrid on-premise and cloud connectivity and resolving cross-platform issues
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation, diagrams, runbooks and root-cause analyses

Responsibilities

• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot switches, wireless APs, VLANs, LAN/WAN, routing

Overview

We are looking for a genuinely hands-on infrastructure and cloud engineer who can personally configure, administer, troubleshoot and improve our on-premise and cloud environments across networking, Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS. This is not a vendor-management-only, advisory or purely supervisory position.

You will be the technical go-to person for infrastructure and cloud incidents, changes and maintenance. You must be comfortable working directly on switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPNs, Windows servers, identity services and cloud consoles, while coordinating vendors only where specialist escalation is required.

What “Hands-On” Means in This Role

• Personally perform configurations, upgrades, patching, migrations, troubleshooting and recovery activities rather than delegating all technical work to vendors

• Diagnose issues end to end using logs, command-line tools, packet or traffic analysis, monitoring data and cloud-native diagnostic tools

• Own incidents through restoration, document root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions

• Participate in planned after-hours maintenance and provide standby support for urgent infrastructure or connectivity incidents

Key Responsibilities

Network, Security & On-Premise Infrastructure

• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot switches, wireless access points, VLANs, LAN/WAN links, routing and site connectivity

• Administer firewalls, security policies, NAT, firmware upgrades and rule reviews; troubleshoot blocked or abnormal traffic

• Configure and maintain site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, including tunnel diagnostics and failover testing

• Administer Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, Group Policy, virtual machines, storage, backup and recovery

• Perform capacity, availability and performance monitoring; take direct remediation action when thresholds or service levels are breached

Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure

• Perform day-to-day administration of Azure and AWS environments using the relevant portals, command-line tools and automation where appropriate

• Build and support cloud networking components such as virtual networks or VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, network security groups, gateways and private connectivity

• Implement and troubleshoot hybrid connectivity using VPN, AWS Direct Connect, including routing and resilience testing

• Provision, secure, monitor, back up and troubleshoot cloud compute, storage and related infrastructure services

• Review cloud resource utilisation, availability, security posture and cost; implement practical optimisation and remediation actions

• Maintain infrastructure configuration records, operating procedures, diagrams and recovery runbooks

Microsoft 365, Identity & Endpoint Support

• Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint, covering configuration, access and service troubleshooting

• Administer on-premise Active Directory, including identity synchronisation, authentication, role assignment and access issues

• Implement and support identity controls such as multi-factor authentication, conditional access and least-privilege administration

• Support endpoint and device management controls where required, including policy deployment, compliance and troubleshooting

Operations, Projects & Vendor Coordination

• Lead technical execution for infrastructure refreshes, office or site connectivity, cloud migration and security-hardening initiatives

• Work with ISPs and technology vendors to resolve issues, while retaining internal technical ownership and validating vendor work

• Maintain monitoring, alerting, backup and configuration-management processes

• Provide clear incident updates, change plans, post-incident reviews and technical recommendations

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or a relevant Microsoft infrastructure or security certification

• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate or a relevant AWS certification

• Relevant network or security certification such as Fortinet or equivalent

Hands-on Experience

• At least 8 years of relevant infrastructure, network, systems or cloud administration experience, with recent hands-on operational responsibility

• Demonstrable experience personally configuring and troubleshooting enterprise switches, wireless networks, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP and routing

• Demonstrable experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 in a production environment

• Practical administration experience in Azure and/or AWS, including cloud networking, compute, storage, identity, logging, monitoring and backup

• Experience supporting hybrid on-premise and cloud connectivity and resolving cross-platform network, identity or access issues

• Ability to use monitoring, logging and diagnostic tools to isolate faults and restore services under pressure

• Ability to produce clear technical documentation, network diagrams, runbooks and root-cause analyses

Other Requirements

• Reliable and responsive for occasional after-hours or weekend support, urgent incidents and planned maintenance

• Strong ownership, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams

• Comfortable working in both office and infrastructure environments and performing on-site technical activities when required
