Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. seeks an experienced quality and reliability professional to oversee hi-rel processes and ensure rigorous QA across semiconductor design and manufacturing. You will lead cross-functional teams, perform root cause analyses, and coordinate 8-D reporting with customers and suppliers worldwide.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, thorough documentation, and strong communication to uphold a high standard of quality in a globally diverse supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Materials Science (or equivalent).
  • 7.5+ years in semiconductor manufacturing design or processing, QA.
  • Experience with key semiconductor manufacturing processes; FPGA/ASIC a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer requirements against procedures and flows; suggest changes.
  • Lead root cause analysis with corrective action teams; write 8-D reports.
  • Monitor and audit hi-rel processes; provide monthly and quarterly metrics.
  • Address customer questionnaires and surveys; coordinate content.
  • Manage reliability program and periodic reliability report updates.
  • Perform Final QC inspections and CofC backups.
  • Conduct internal audits of processes and systems.
  • Read and interpret component specs, qualifications, and reliability summaries.

Job Description
  • Reviewing customer requirements against existing procedures and flows and making change recommendations.
  • Working with corrective action teams to perform root cause analysis and write 8-D reports and follow up with the customer on these issues.
  • Monitoring and auditing hi-rel processes, providing monthly and quarterly metrics.
  • Address customer questionnaires and surveys - coordinating or providing required content.
  • Managing ongoing reliability program (plan, execute, perform product test, co-ordination, etc) and periodic Reliability report updates.
  • Performing Final QC inspection, perform C of C's as a back up to our primary Coordinator.
  • Monitor and continually improve the Hi-Rel processes.
  • Performing spot inspections of the test floor.
  • Perform Internal audits of processes and systems.
  • Technical proficiency to read and understand component specifications, component qualifications and reliability summaries, yield, Cpk, AVL, BOMs, familiar with mil/hi-rel requirements: documentation, nomenclature, protocols, etc.
  • Proficiency in various quality tools like PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, FMEDA, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Material Science (or equivalent).
  • 7.5+ years of related experience in semiconductor manufacturing design or processing, Quality Assurance.
  • Working knowledge of key semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with semiconductor materials manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Experience with FPGA and ASIC products a plus.
  • Experience in performing final QC inspections, data-pack preparations, and CofC a plus.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills and interpersonal skills with ability to successfully interact with customers, all levels of management, manufacturing staff and suppliers world-wide.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to lead or work in cross-functional teams to review and resolve customer or supplier issues in a timely fashion.
  • Customer focused, a self-starter, detail orient, positive, quick learner and a problem solver.
