Job summary

Responsibilities

Job Description

Microchip has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technician II-Engineering at our facility in Beverly, Massachusetts. This role offers the opportunity to operate in a highly technical and scientific environment, employing a variety of manufacturing and testing techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Troubleshoot product test failures to the component level and determine root causes.
  • Generate NCRs for production test issues.
  • Support Product Engineers in resolving production-related issues.
  • Assist operators with testing and troubleshooting production hardware.
  • Perform failure analysis using strong troubleshooting techniques.
  • Operate RF/Microwave test equipment and fixtures.
Requirements and Desired Qualifications
  • Essential Qualifications:
    • Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience and a proven track record of excellence in electronics assembly and testing.
    • Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
    • Experienced in soldering and cable assembly.
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and remain highly organized.
    • Comfortable working with cross functional teams.
    • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to fast paced environment.
    • Strong commitment to teamwork and process.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in space qualified construction and testing techniques.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in documentation generation, organization, and storage.
  • Desired Qualifications:
    • BS/BA in Engineering / Engineering Technology.
    • J-STD Certification (terminals and wires, through hole technology and surface mount technology)
    • Experience in High Precision timing, test, and measurement.
    • Experience with Ultra High Vacuum systems
    • Demonstrated proficiency in space qualified construction and testing techniques.
    • Demonstrated RF design capabilities.
    • FPGA programming experience.

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $24.52 - $53.85.* *Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
