Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer II- IT Systems (Virtualization) to configure, manage, and optimize a global virtual environment across VMware, Proxmox, and Nutanix platforms.

You will lead Aria Automation and Aria Operations deployments and work with cloud templates to extend services to AWS, Azure, and GCP. The role requires deep knowledge of virtualization, hardware platforms from Lenovo, HPE and Dell, and the ability to collaborate in a distributed global team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS or related field with 7.5–9 years of experience.
• Extensive knowledge of VMware vSphere, VMware Cloud Foundation and Proxmox.
• Strong knowledge of VMware Aria Automation and VMware Aria Operations.
• Experience with Lenovo, HPE and Dell hardware.
• Working knowledge of a wide variety of operating systems.
• Able to collaborate in a global team and support remotely.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage and maintain the global virtual environment (VMware, Proxmox and Nutanix based) including server installation, configuration, patching and security hardening.
• Manage Aria Automation deployment, create cloud templates and extend service to AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Manage Aria Operations deployment and utilize rightsizing, planning and troubleshooting features.
• Collaborate with various infrastructure teams to solve problems.
• Support the Level 2 team with training in a global context.
