Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc is seeking an experienced IT/DevOps professional to configure, manage, and secure our global virtualization environment, including VMware vSphere and Proxmox, with exposure to Nutanix and Aria Automation/Operations. You will collaborate across global teams to support Level 2 operations and drive cloud templates across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

The role requires 7.5–9 years of related experience and a strong hardware background (Lenovo, HPE, Dell) along with extensive OS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field with 7.5 - 9 years experience.
• Excellent knowledge of VMware vSphere, VMware cloud foundation and Proxmox.
• Good knowledge of VMware Aria Automation and Operations.
• Good knowledge of Lenovo, HPE and Dell hardware.
• Good working knowledge of a wide variety of operating systems.
• Good team player. Ability to work as part of a global team and remotely support our global virtualization footprint.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage and maintain the global virtual environment (VMware, Proxmox and Nutanix based).
• Manage Aria Automation deployment, create cloud templates and extend service to the Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Manage Aria Operations deployment, utilize rightsizing, planning and troubleshooting options.
• Work with various infrastructure teams to solve problems.
• Work in a global team and support the Level 2 team with training.

Job Description

• Configure, manage and maintain the global virtual environment (VMware, Proxmox and Nutanix based) including physical server installation, configuration, patch management and security hardening.
• Manage our Aria Automation deployment, help creating cloud templates and extend that service to the Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Manage our Aria Operations deployment, help to utilize the options being provided there (rightsizing, planning and trouble shooting)
• Work with various infrastructure teams to solve problems
• Work in a global team and support the Level 2 team with training

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field with 7.5 - 9 years experience
• Excellent knowledge of VMware vSphere, VMware cloud foundation and Proxmox
• Good knowledge of VMware Aria Automation and Operations
• Good knowledge of Lenovo, HPE and Dell hardware
• Good working knowledge of a wide variety of operating systems
• Good team player. Ability to work as part of a global team and remotely support our global virtualization footprint
  

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of Nutanix
• Knowledge of Cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Containers
• Knowledge of various storage systems and technologies

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304 - 205,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
