Job summary

ASM in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Total Product Support Engineer to join our team, focusing on system-level product support for new product development in the semiconductor space.

You will collaborate with Hardware, Electrical, Controls, Process, and Software engineers, own the first build in the development lab, develop service procedures, drive Alpha/Beta readiness and customer shipments, and report field issues to enable rapid qualification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• 5+ years of experience with epitaxy process equipment in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience with ALD/CVD and etch processes.
• Fluency in Japanese and business-level English.
• Ability to travel internationally, 25–50%.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor processing and device fabrication.

Responsibilities

• System-level expert for product support on new product development.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Electrical, Controls, Process, and Software teams.
• Advise during design phase on serviceability, manufacturability, and requirements.
• Owns first build and test of new product in the development lab.
• Develops service procedures and best-known methods for maintenance.
• Owns Alpha/Beta shipments and drives fab readiness and startup.
• Reports field issues for new products and drives resolution.
• Defines spares lists and stocking levels for new products.
• Interacts with customers, main ones being Micron Japan, Rapidus.

We are looking for a talented Total Product Support (TPS) Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• System level expert focused on product support for new product development.
• Interaction with Hardware, Electrical, Controls, Process, and Software engineering teams to become the system level expert on new products being developed.
• Provides guidance to engineering during the design phase of new products on key customer requirements and needs. Including PM service tasks, design for service, design for manufacturability, etc.
• Owns first build and test of the new product in the development lab, working closely with engineering teams providing real time feedback of issues and recommends solutions.
• Develops procedures and documents best known methods for service, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Owns First in Fab (Alpha or Beta) customer shipments. Drives customer fab readiness (facilities set up), installation and start up through production qualification.
• Detailed Reporting of field issues for new products in the field
• Drives and owns customer issues on new products during the Alpha build and test phase as well as during beta testing at customer sites.
• Develops critical spares parts lists for new products, ensures initial stocking levels are set and ready for new product shipments.
• The primary customers will be Micron Japan, Rapidus,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferably in Epitaxy (Epi) process equipment in semiconductor equipment manufacturer.
• ALD/CVD, Etch is also considerable
• Fluency in Japanese and business level communication skills in English.
• Ability to travel internationally. Depending on the product development cycle travel ranges from 25% to 50%
• Basic understanding of semiconductor processing and device fabrication.
