Job summary

Air Products, based in Gonzales, LA, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to provide pressure systems support for fixed equipment across North America, mainly Gulf Coast facilities. Travel about 35% to plants and offices is required.

You will interface with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve fixed equipment challenges. The role emphasizes design, inspection, and repair of vessels, piping, boilers, and heat exchangers while aligning with codes (ASME, NBIC, API) and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of relevant work experience required.
• ASME/API Pressure Vessel knowledge preferred.
• Driver’s license with good driving record required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Mechanical Engineering Support for fixed equipment during planned and unplanned outages.
• Develop plans and lead repairs/alterations to coded vessels and fixed equipment (boilers, piping, tanks, exchangers).
• Perform engineering design calculations and coordinate with Global Engineering and 3rd party contractors.
• Participate in pressure systems failure investigations.
• Implement recommendations and support Global Mechanical Integrity & MOC programs.
• Focus on safety and profitability for HYCO Americas.
