Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Senior Engineer 1 in Distribution Engineering Automation & Power Quality/Electric Magnetic Fields to lead process excellence across hardware, software, power quality and field support teams, driving cross-functional collaboration and data-driven decision making.

This hybrid role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field and 7+ years of engineering experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a scientific/technical/math field is required.
Seven or more years of engineering experience in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
Valid Class C Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies.
Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Collaborates and leads with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies.
Assists in engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of procedures and design recommendations.
Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads handover to ramp and sustaining phases.
Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure.
Gathers and correlates data using engineering studies and testing procedures.
Promotes training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members.
