Job summary

Molex in Lisle, IL is seeking a Die Project & Predictive Engineer to advance stamped component development and optimize internal and vendor manufacturing processes. You will partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop robust tooling and processes.

Responsibilities include reviewing high-speed die designs with NX, performing DFMs, troubleshooting, and running stamping simulations; supporting DOEs, prototyping, and integrating automation; and ensuring adherence to TQM, Six Sigma,

Qualifications

  • Completion of a technical school program such as Tool & Die Apprenticeship or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in blanking and forming spring temper non-ferrous metals.
  • Experience in creating blueprints/technical drawings.
  • Analytical skills to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results, and make corrections.
  • Willingness to interact with global plants, including attending evening and early morning meetings.
  • Ability to travel to manufacturing plants and suppliers in Asia and Mexico to support assigned projects.

  • Support CSBU tooling groups during design, debug, qualification, and production phases.
  • Review high-speed carbide progressive die designs and perform DFM work using NX software and 2D CAD.
  • Troubleshoot existing high-speed carbide progressive dies in design and service.
  • Communicate concerns through DFMs and improve stamping technology and processes.
  • Utilize predictive engineering stamping simulation and NX software.
  • Develop external resources to support new product development.
  • Contribute to and support TQM, Six Sigma, ISO, and EH&S Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Proof of Concept lab for DOEs, prototyping and die design for fabrication.
  • Lead stamping projects specification and development, including for automation lines with integrated stamping.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Your Job

As a Die Project & Predictive Engineer at Molex, you will support the new product development and advanced development of stamped components, optimizing product design for both internal and vendor manufacturing processes. You will be instrumental in developing robust processes and products by working closely with various engineering and manufacturing teams.

Our Team

You will be part of the Copper Solutions Business Unit and will report to the Components Manager. collaborative team includes Product Engineering, Automation, Development Process Engineering, and all CSBU tooling teams globally. You will also interact with vendors and plant contacts.

What You Will Do
  • Support CSBU tooling groups during design, debug, qualification, and production phases.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Completion of a technical school program, such as Tool & Die Apprenticeship, or equivalent work experience.

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in the design of high-speed carbide progressive dies.
  • Knowledge of NX software, TeamCenter Software, ECTR Software, and Die Simulation Software.
  • 2-3 years of experience in the fabrication and building of progressive dies.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of PDM experience.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 - $130,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
