Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Data Integration Specialist in Plano, TX to design and implement ETL/data integration using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Python and Java. You will partner with product and technology leads to align requirements with target architecture and ensure data quality across ingestion pipelines.

The role requires 5 years of related experience, strong SQL/Java skills, and familiarity with ETL, data analysis and MDm tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, CS, or related field and 5 years’ experience.
• Experience with MS SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Cloud, JSON/XML, Kafka, ETL.
• Knowledge of data analytics, data mining and data reporting; familiarity with SAP-like facets.

Responsibilities

• Partner with PMs, Tech Managers and Architects to capture requirements and target architecture.
• Develop ETL and data integration using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Python and Java.
• Analyze and troubleshoot ETL data quality issues and data ingestion validation.
• Support data modeling and configuration of the MDM platform; promote DevOps/Data Ops practices.
• Represent KPI metrics, defects and progress to stakeholders.

Summary of Duties

Partner with Product Managers, Technology Managers, and Architect to understand business requirements and target architecture, and to develop and meet functional requirements. Develop ETL and data integration processes, using a variety of technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Python and Java. Analyze and troubleshoot data integrations to identify and resolve missing or incorrect or inconsistent data due to ETL issues. Assist the team in performing data analysis required for ingestion or syndication of new data sources including testing and validation. Assist the team in knowing, defining and adhering to best practices for version control (branding, merging, etc.), promotion methodology (DevOps, Data Ops), and incorporating reliability engineering. Assist the team with data modeling and configuration of the MDM platform.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Operations (any), Management (any), Engineering (any), Analytics (any), Business (any), Language (any), Telecom, Math, Physics, Electrical/Electronics, or a related field of study AND Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained.

The annual salary for this position is: $110,800.00 - $166,200.00 May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Benefits

Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time. Associates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible: To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company. For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay. Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
