Job summary

CarMax Business Services is seeking a strategic, analytical leader to drive initiatives aligned with our long-range plan. You will identify opportunities, partner with functional experts, and define test plans with clear metrics.

The role focuses on translating business objectives into concrete actions, coordinating multiple projects, and communicating outcomes to executives. Based at the Midtown Office in Richmond, VA, you will work onsite four days per week and contribute to market expansion

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience in an analytical role.
• Undergraduate degree in business or quantitative discipline; graduate degree a plus.
• Experience with strategy formulation, articulation, and implementation.
• Experience with advanced analytics and modeling preferred.
• Excel, PowerPoint; SQL experience preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

• Identifying opportunities across the organization by periodically leading sessions to identify potential new initiatives for development, and developing and maintaining a roadmap of new initiatives and tests for development that roll up to our long-range Strategic Plan
• Supporting the development of solutions in partnership with our functional experts in each area
• Defining the test plan to understand interdependencies between tests, the sequencing of testing, and identifying key performance metrics
• Conducting test analysis to understand performance and identifying opportunities to further enhance the initiative
• Determining when ready for market expansion
• Maintaining a communication strategy to inform all executives on results from strategic initiatives as well as overall business performance

• Ability to convert high-level business objectives into concrete action plans and analytical tasks
• Ability to assimilate numerous qualitative and quantitative inputs in the face of ambiguity and drill down to a good decision

Requirements

• Completion of a four-year undergraduate degree in a business or quantitative discipline with an excellent academic record; Graduate degree a plus but not required
• Four or more years of experience in an analytical role

• Computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint; SQL experience preferred

Work Location and Arrangement

This role will be based out of the CarMax Midtown Office (Richmond, VA) and associates will work onsite 4 days per week.

The annual salary for this position is:

$102,100.00 - $163,400.00 May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Benefits

• Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.
• Associates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible: To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
• For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday.
• If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.
• Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
