Job summary

The Elevance Health Companies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our IT team in Wilmington, DE. This role requires in-office 1–2 days per week with flexible hybrid arrangements to support productivity and work-life balance.

You will collaborate with business and engineering teams to build web portals, define specifications, and mentor others on coding standards. Candidates should have 5+ years of IT experience and strong BI and cloud skills to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 5 years related experience; experience with multi-dimensional platforms, and business and technical applications also required; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
• Experience with front-end UI libraries/frameworks such as Angular, ReactJS, Vue, or equivalent highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements.
• Anticipate opportunities for improvement and identify alternate solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers for ideas for Web portals supporting interactive content and evaluate enhancements.
• Define application scope and objectives and prepare functional/technical specifications.
• Analyze and evaluate detailed business and technical requirements.
• Code and maintain complex components of information systems.
• Mentor others on coding standards and perform code reviews.
• Develop and perform system testing and fix defects identified during testing.
• Assist in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation.
• Provide timely support to data information planning effort.
• Maintain development environment and implementation plan.
• Develop training documentation and identify training needs.
• Manage small projects and mentor others.
• Serve as SME for one or more BI applications.
