Overview

GovCIO is hiring an experienced Senior Engineer/Architect to manage application processes and maintenance for complex conceptual data at the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role requires expertise in C#, .NET, JavaScript, and SQL Server, with responsibilities including software maintenance and system enhancements. This position is fully remote within the United States.

Please note: The contract has been awarded; however, this position remains unfunded and is contingent upon funding release.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead efforts for applications managing complex conceptual data in C#, .NET, and SQL Server environments.
  2. Implement .NET Core applications and frameworks to perform daily metadata extraction processes.
  3. Conduct research and recommend emerging technologies to improve efficiency.
  4. Expertise in React, .NET, SQL Server, and Angular development.
  5. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues efficiently.
  6. Experience in leading application conversions and modernizing legacy systems.
  7. Perform security reviews of source codebases using automated tools to identify and remediate findings.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features.
  9. Support software integration and compatibility across various platforms.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering with 8+ years of experience or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of software maintenance methodologies, including DevOps.
  • Proficiency in SQL database management, query optimization, and stored procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in a team environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI frameworks is a plus.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and data protection.
  • Familiarity with IoT, embedded systems, and real-time data processing.

Clearance required: Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Pay and Salary Range

The posted salary range is USD $120,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 per year. The actual offer may vary based on factors such as market location, skills, education, and experience. This is an at-will position, and GovCIO reserves the right to modify compensation at any time.
