Job summary

Merlin Labs is seeking a leader to own the test data platform strategy across engineering, flight test, and analytics. You will drive adoption of scalable data platforms, set governance standards, and partner with multiple engineering teams to align platforms with corporate goals.

You will shape the long‑term data vision, oversee vendor relationships, and push for automation and data‑driven decision making across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in aerospace, aviation, defense, or complex engineering environments.
• Experience with engineering systems, test operations, telemetry or data platforms.
• Experience managing enterprise software implementations and deployments.
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration across multiple levels.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for Merlin's test data platforms.
• Drive adoption of scalable data platforms for lab, simulation, ground and flight test.
• Establish standards, governance, and best practices across Engineering.
• Manage vendor relationships, roadmap alignment, and platform performance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and lead platform improvements.
• Ensure vendor solutions meet Merlin's technical and business needs.
• Define long-term vision for engineering test data management.
• Standardize data workflows and governance across programs.
• Lead modern digital engineering transitions from legacy workflows.
• Advise leadership on investments, capabilities and data strategy.
• Improve efficiency via automation and data-driven decisions.
• Partner with Systems Eng, Flight Test, Instrumentation, Software and PM.
